Last week I wrote about an exciting new tool called ZooBurst. ZooBurst allows users to create 3D digital stories through augmented reality technology. Augmented reality is a very new idea for a lot of teachers and therefore a lot teachers may not understand what augmented reality is and what it can be used for. Fortunately, Common Craft has a video to explain augmented reality. Augmented Reality in Plain English explains what augmented reality does when used on a mobile phone and when used on a computer. Watch the video here.
Applications for Education
Not understanding how a particular program or type of technology works is often an obstacle to getting teachers to use new technology in their classrooms. Augmented reality is an example of that idea. Common Craft's videos are great tools for introducing new ideas to teachers in a clear, easy-to-understand style.
