Snag Films Offers a New Movie Theater Widget

I've been a fan of Snag Films since it launched in the summer of 2008. I was disappointed earlier this year when they disabled the embedding options that they previously offered. Late last week Snag Films released a new widget which is a compromise between embedding full films on your blog or not embedding them at all.

Snag Films now offers the option to build your own movie theater widget. The movie theater widget allows you to select the films that appear in your widget. Snag Films offers three sizes for your movie theater. Films in your widget play for two minutes before asking you to jump to Snag Films to watch the rest of the film.

Applications for Education
If you use documentary films in the course you teach, Snag Films movie theater widget provides a convenient way to create a playlist of those films. Place the widget on your course blog or website for students to refer to if they miss a classroom viewing or if they want to go back and watch a clip again. You could also place your Snag Films widget on your blog or website to provide your students with supplementary materials to view on their own.
